The Festival

  • In tougher times of conservatism and false moralism, the animated cinema reasserts itself as a refuge and coping field. Animage Festival is the safe haven for freedom of ideas and at the same time a runway.

  • Animated images, which do not need the real to exist (they can even be produced without cameras) expand the limits of the imagination and break the frontiers of the artistic expression. By sheltering the visual creations of filmmakers from such diverse cultures, the festival gains urgency in the conflictive contemporary context of Brazil and the world.

  • This year with 88 films from 29 countries in the Competitive Screening, the Animage also has Special Screenings, Feature Films, Masterclasses and Workshops, and has become one of the most important animated film events in Brazil.

  • The Animage Festival is produced by Rec-Beat Productions, Support of French Consulate, Institut Français, French Cinematheque, CePE, Coala Films, Canal Brasil, Porto Digital, Portomídia, Cinema do Museu / Fundação Joaquim Nabuco, Cinema São Luiz, and Sponsor by CAIXA and Governo Federal.
